Lena Hoschek: Spring / Summer 2014

I'm sort of obsessed with Lena Hoschek dresses.  If I was a celebutante, Lena's stuff is probably all I'd wear, like, maybe everysingleday for. ev. er.   I love how her collection from this past spring is extra girly & spring-like, and loaded down with twirl-friendly garden pastels, novelty prints, and florals. What say you?

Lena Hoschek Meets Dia De Los Muertos

I love Lena Hoschek, and I think her best work is always her spring/summer collections.  But maybe that's just because I reallyreallyreallyreallyreally like prints & color (and prints & color seem to reside in spring/summer collections in general.)  The current spring/summer 2014 collection is superpretty, with lots of vivid pastels and gentle, floaty tea timey florals, but I especially loved last year's spring/summer 2013 lookbook, which was inspired by Mexico (in particular the Day of The Dead aesthetic.) Frida Kahlo is somewhere clapping.  These were some of my very favorite dresses:

Style Muse: Vera Burr From Bomb Girls

If you haven't seen Bomb Girls, I totally understand.  It's a series from Canada, and here in the US, it airs on a weird TV channel called Reelz that you've probably never even heard of.  But I hear it's also on Netflix, so, if you like old fashioned things, you should seek it out.  It's set in the 1940s, so all the characters have incredible clothes, but my favorite wardrobe is Vera's.  (Spoiler alert:) early in the series she gets injured and her face becomes scarred, but, if you ask me, scar face or not, she always looks the very best.
