Geeky Stuff Alert: Relativity's Snow White Project
So, you've probably heard that there are not one, but TWO Snow White centered movies in the works. One of which is called "Snow White and the Huntsman." That one stars Twilight alum (and deadpan-faced extraordinaire), Kristen Stewart. Her movie is being pushed as an epic tale of adventure. Some of the movie's PR people are even using "Lord of the Rings" comparisons (hehe...) There are a few shots of Kristen looking sullen and wearing armor on a battlefield. I don't want to rush to judgment, but I'm not sure I really want to see any version of Snow White wearing armor... I get the concept of making things more gritty, but when combined with Kristen, I just don't know...
The other movie (which is currently being called "Relativity's Untitled Snow White Project"), stars the delightful (style-muse-in-the-making) Lily Collins. And yes, if you're wondering, Lily is singer Phil Collin's daughter. How fun and weird is that? Actually, everything about this version seems fun and weird. The above photos were all taken from Entertainment Weekly. Aren't they just fantastic? The costuming and set design details are incredibly beautiful. The ballroom scene looks especially breathtaking; very Labyrinthish. And look! There's a picture of Snow White practicing her sword-fighting in the snow, smiling, and wearing a deathly pretty gown! I can't wait!

totally agree about the kristen s. movie - it actually looks horrible, and the girl is a single faceted actress. plus, julia roberts as the queen? dunno - it just rubs me the wrong way.
that said, i have been geeking out over these new stills, too! snow white is a girly thing, not a fighter.
heather: i was sad to hear about julia roberts being the queen, too, because she tends to annoy me. BUT that might actually work for her since she'll be a villain and we're SUPPOSED to not like her character anyways ;) in the end, it could be perfect casting (neeheehee!)
He he he, your description of Stewart is priceless! I can't wait to see the second film, Miss Collin's is so adorable and the costumes... *swoon* xoxo
I'm thrilled about this one but will definitely still be watching the other one.
