Twirly Dance Rainbow Rings

Take a peek at these fun, colorful, preschooler rainbow rings (they're perfect for spinning & twirly dancing!) from Five Minutes For Books (the site is awesome, and you'll find all the step-by-step directions there.) Here's my favorite rainbow sing-along song:

Colors of the Rainbow:
(sung to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)

"Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue,
Indigo and Violet too.
Take the colors one by one, mix them up with rain and sun...
Stand on tip-toes way up high, paint your rainbow in the sky!"

For kinesthetic types, you can add-in fun action moves. I like to have the kids stand up when they hear a color that they're wearing, then we make a mixing action, then we make a rain sign, a sun sign, stand on tip-toes, and lastly sweep a rainbow curve in the air... (this would be the perfect time to use the rainbow rings and transition into twirly dancing with a colors-themed song...)
