Singsongy Saturday: For The Summer, Live

Even though he sports a highly questionable (and in this clip, er, sweaty) unabombery look, I still love Ray LaMontagne. And since it's memorial weekend, a summery song seems appropriate.

Monday Music: Lighthearted Kites

I love this song. And it goes so perfect with kites. Kites being kites.

Preschool in Nature: Winter 2014

Yippee! Fall enrollment for the Preschool in Nature program is now open at the Nature Center (Call 562 570-1745 to sign up or get on a waitlist. Pre-registration is required, as these classes fill up quickly.)

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays,
10-11:30am

FREE Mother Nature Printable Book

Print your own here.

mother nature:  where is she?
Mother Nature is not the same as you and I.
Her home is the forest and her playground is the sky.
Can you find her?
She’d prefer you spy her when the rain is pouring from above,
letting all her ponds and rivers dance a droplets dance.
Did you see her dancing with the clouds?
They danced so hard they bumped together,
causing the lightning to prance.
Or you can feel her slippery touch when
your toes squish in the mud.
When she stirs the wind,
catch a whiff of her earthy smells: dirt and flowers and leaves!
And when you say “Hello Ms. Ladybug, how wonderful you are!”
It’s Mother Nature who says thank you
with a tickle of those little bug legs.
Where is Mother Nature?
You’ll find her in the things she does and the things she loves.
She’s right there, and here, and over there too.
Do you see her?

Buy a Bernie Dexter Dress, Save a Puppy!

10% of the profits from this red, puppy print Bernie Dexter Chelsea Dog Dress go to the ASPCA.

I have this dress, and maybe you should get one, too!  It runs a little big in the chesty area, but other than that, I found it to be true-to-size and comfy. The twirl-friendly full skirt and kitschy-adorable print make it SO FUN to wear.  So if you need a new dress (and really, who doesn't?) maybe go save a puppy!
