When I was little, I used to make locket-style necklaces using matchboxes, and these tiny felt house necklaces are a darling little idea adaption. They make supersweet gifts for kidlets, and they're ecofriendly, too: the structure is made using an old matchbox, card stock, felt scraps and a trusty glue gun (to take the greeniness up a notch, use old postcards instead of cardstock for the roof, and Crafter's Pick The Ultimate! non-toxic super glue... it's water-based, kid-friendly, and I've found that it works as well as traditional craft adhesives.) Believe it our not, these cottage cuties are fairly easy to make (I've made six, all in different bright, punchy colors... a Fairy Neighborhood!)

Google Eye Guys
Who can resist the allure of a package of googley eyes? Back in the day, they had to be glued on, but now they come with oh-so-convenient press-on sticky backs (yay!) This makes it supersimple for kidlets to transform pocket-sized nature treasures. Get inspired by the Caboose's Rock Family Plaque (shown above) and...
The Magic Onions Acorn Buddies (shown below.)
Live near the beach? Try creating even more critters using sea shells :)

Artsy Marshmallow Snacks
Due to the sharpness of the pointy skewers, these are prolly best for older kids... but what a brilliant, superfun idea: just thread some marshmallows, and then color 'um with gourmet food decorating paint pens. Visit The Decorated Cookie for all the when-pretty-meets-yummy stepsy tips&tricks&things :)
*Reminder for Pet Parents: Please remember that these (and most other) human foods are made for humans only, and should never be shared with our furry friends, most especially dogs.
